Blue Fern Gallery was thrilled to partner with the - Peterborough’s premier area summer theater- to offer free tickets to the production of Emma as well as an illustrated print of the Player’s theatre by artist Deb Caplan. Brendon Fox, Artistic Director, selected lucky winner Cynthia Walicki on August 7th, during MAXT’s Night Market in Depot Square.

Artist Spotlight: RACHEL THORNE GERMOND

🌱Welcome Rachel to the Blue Fern Gallery!!
Rachel, a resident of Hancock, NH creates work that reflects a life-long endeavor to combine multiple creative impulses, including visual art, dance, photography, and video. Her work includes a variety of media and subject matter, including paintings, mixed media, and photographs inspired by living between urban and pastoral environments, as a document of her daily life, as well as explorations of fantasy, memory, and dreams.
Rachel has presented her visually art in New York City, Wellfleet, MA, Bisbee, AZ, and the Monadnock region. She earned a BFA in Studio Art from Cornell University’s College of Art, Architecture and Planning, and later achieved an MFA in Dance and Choreography from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her early training in art includes tutoring by her grandmother, Yankee Magazine cover artist BeaTrix Sagendorph, her mother, Dublin, NH-based artist Jane Thorne, and her father, RISD professor Russell Germond.
She often combines her visual art with live performances that include video projections, text, and choreography under the auspices of Rachel Thorne Germond Performance Collage (aka RTG Dance).

Lorna Perkins - Paintings

Welcome painter Lorna Perkins to the Blue Fern Gallery!

Lorna is inspired by the everyday for her works, which include still lifes/florals, landscapes, abstracts, figurative works, and portraits. While she mostly enjoys painting with oils, she also creates works in pastels, colored pencils, and mixed media. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Nashua Area Artists' Association and for the Hollis Arts Society. She is also an artist member of both the Jaffrey Civic Center and the Monadnock Area Artists Association, as well as an associate artist of the North Shore Arts Association.
“I paint because doing so gives me joy.”
