A NEW CHRISTMAS SHOW THIS YEAR!
Written by two local authors: and

Before "A Christmas Carol", there was a Christmas dinner.

Christmas Eve 1841. As Charles Dickens gathers inspiration for A Christmas Carol, his wife Kate grapples with an elaborate dinner menu, an ever-expanding guest list, and Charles's troublemaking father--all while secretly writing a cookbook. When Charles fails to appreciate Kate's holiday labor, she goes on strike, leaving her clueless husband to face holiday chaos without her.

Petaluma Readers Theatre presents a true American Classic. "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder, presented Readers Theatre style! Described by Edward Albee as "the greatest American play ever written", it presents the fictional American town of Grover's Corners between 1901 and 1913 through the everyday lives of its citizens. It is an essential play about how we must embrace and appreciate the value of life itself.

This is an Equity-approved project.

PRT was busy during the pandemic. We filmed a show! And today, in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day, we'd like to send this out into the ethernet. "Women's Work" is a collection of 5 monologues written from the perspective of women around the world who, unknowingly and knowingly, were involved with the Hollerith Machine (https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/hollerith-machine) which facilitated the N**i war machine. Inspired by "IBM and the Holocaust" by Edwin Black. View it on Youtube: https://youtu.be/ejbDa_E5c4M

This Petaluma tradition goes online! Of course, we can't do our show for you this year, so we're putting it out on the web. A few years back we recorded the Capote show. So if you miss hearing this heartwarming story this year, you can listen online. Because, you know, "it's fruitcake weather!" ENJOY! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWAUIX4GHTc

In Covid Times, PRT has gone virtual! This show, "19th, The Journey to Ratification", has been done in conjunction with the Petaluma Historical Library and Museum, celebrating 100 years of Women Votes. We were to perform the show surrounded by the amazing Suffrage Exhibit at the museum, and surrounded by YOU! Well... we got half of it anyway... We filmed it among the exhibits! We present key figures giving key speeches that influenced - or denounced - the Women's Suffrage movement over 72 years. We hope it will inspire a desire to VOTE in the coming election. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/fk4zcCxwvw0

From Under Milk Wood:
"...her lover, tall as the town clock tower, Samsonsyrup-gold-maned, whacking thighed and piping hot, thunderbolt-bass'd and barnacle breasted, flailing up the cockles with his eyes like blowlamps and scooping low over her lonely lovely hotwaterbottled body."
