New Gallery Show opening Saturday, September 5th from 4-7 in the Slough City Gallery! Fragments & Fluidity by Bea Cheung

Bea Cheung's debut solo exhibition, "Fragments & Fluidity", is to take place on the 5th of September 2026 in the Slough City Gallery in Petaluma's historic warehouse district. Featuring a body of work influenced by the freedom of abstraction with the bold social consciousness of contemporary street art, the layered materials, tactile surfaces and a balance of control and chaos in her mark-making reflects a deep engagement with the complexities of navigating intersecting lived experiences. The exhibition invites viewers to see healing not as a destination, but as an ongoing practice of integration, connection, and collective care. Part 1: Guided freewrites using prompts that invite exploration of memorable events in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Part 2: Collage with images, colors, and textures to create a visual expression.

No writing or artistic experience necessary.

Bring a notebook and a pen.

Material for collages will be provided. You are welcome to bring poems, magazines, or any material for your collage.

Marlene Cullen is the founder of Writers Forum and the creator of Jumpstart Writing Workshops. She hosts The Write Spot Blog, a place of inspiration for writers. Her workshops and blog provide essential elements for successful writing.

The Write Spot anthologies, edited by Marlene, are collections of short stories, poems, and vignettes with prompts to encourage writing.
