My dear friend, Katie Pipkins was killed by a drunk driver on December 30, 2023 while responding to a vehicle accident in Mobile, AL when she worked for the ambulance company where we met. She was the person you would want responding to any emergency you might ever need an ambulance for. An actual hero.
I will always tell her story to anyone that will listen! She was a ray of sunshine and her death was an avoidable tragedy.
I did the tattoo in the second photo on Katie when I first started back tattooing in 2023 (she was probably my 5th tattoo and was honored to be my guinea pig)
I did the tattoo in the first photo today on her sister, Cassie and it was the second time I’ve got to do that design. (I did it a little differently than the first time around because I had been tattooing for 5 minutes and didn’t execute it the way I would today)
It was such an honor to be able to tattoo the design she once picked out on her sister that she talked about daily on our shifts. Today was a good and bittersweet day 💛
