You can find artistry of all kinds at the Cole Porter Festival. If you're a creative of any kind, this environment is perfect to get your ideas flowing.

Meet JO Buffington and Chris Smith, two artist who are "Plein Air" painters. Now you may be wondering just what Plein Air means, well simply put, it is painting in the great outdoors. Buffington has been specializing in this for over 50 years and has taken many interested artists under his wings, such as Smith. From San Diego, Smith comes into to town just for the festival, but this year is his first time painting at the Cole Porter Festival.

"I love coming to the festival because of the people you meet. I get to make new friends, hang out and listen to music, plus get a little out of my comfort zone each time. It is all worth it."

When I asked them about how they go about a painting, Buffington's answer coincided with Smith's.

"It just about feeling your way through the painting."

What amazing pieces of art these two created right there on the sidewalks of the Cole Porter Festival. Two different artistic point of views but capturing the essence of what the festival is all about!
