We had many food vendors lined up for this weekend, and they prepped extremely hard and are bummed that the weather didn’t cooperate for the event. So if you had plans to join us at the Taste of the Illinois Valley this weekend, you can still support the vendors that were committed to being at the event!

Some are open and operating at the park for the evening! Others are at their brick and mortar stores waiting for you!

🚨Taste of the Illinois Valley Update🚨

We regret to inform you, we have been forced to cancel our event tonight. With the forecasted weather, we had to make the decision to protect the band and sound equipment.

The fun zone will remain open from 5-7:30pm.

🚨Taste of the Illinois Valley Update! 🚨

We are doing everything possible to make our event happen tonight. As of right now, we plan to open up the Fun Zone with a FOAM PARTY at 5pm, along with food vendors opening at 5pm.

At this time our bands are scheduled for their original times. Renegade the tribute to Styx to perform from 6:30-7:30pm, followed by Bed of Roses the tribute to Bon Jovi from 8:30-10:30pm.

If needed, we will push these live music performances back an hour if weather forces us to. We will keep everyone updated here if times change.

Let’s make the best of our final night at Centennial Park and support all the people and food vendors that have put a lot of time and effort into serving you and your friends this weekend even though it hasn’t gone as planned so far!

Due to the recent weather and forecasted weather this morning, and looking out for the safety of the wrestlers, the Dreamwave Wrestling event scheduled from 1-4pm this afternoon has been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The craft vendors have also cancelled for this afternoon and evening.

We are still planning to have our two tribute bands perform this evening. Stick with us on this profile for updates as we are trying to do everything that we can to have our event and bands play this evening.

THIS WEEK IN PERU!

The Taste of the Illinois Valley returns to Peru's Centennial Park on Friday, July 31!

Brushville, sponsored by Shaw Local Radio, kicks things off on Friday evening from 6:30-9:30pm, with food vendors opening at 5pm, and the FREE Kids Zone! Kids Zone on Friday begins and 5pm and closes at 9pm. The Peru CSO will be bartending!

Dreamwave Wrestling is back on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1pm! Kids Zone opens at 4pm Saturday, with live music beginning at 6:30! These live music performances are ones you will not want to miss out on! The United Way will be your featured bartenders!

Make plans to join us on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1 for food, cold beverages, fun and great entertainment! Don't forget to get in on the 50/50 raffle!

The City of Peru is looking for sponsor support! The Taste of the Illinois Valley is just over 3 months away and we have many activities, and a lot of entertainment lined up for everyone to enjoy! Is your business looking to get involved with community events?! If you answered yes, this is a great opportunity! Follow the link below!
All sponsorship dollars collected are specifically assisting with funding the Kids' Zone allowing the kids' activities to remain free!
We will try to approach each business in person to distribute sponsorship information, but we cannot get to all businesses in a short amount of time, so some might find the sponsorship information in the mail.
