PHS art student earns MSU recognition

Perryville High School art student Lynlea Seabaugh has earned recognition for her artwork from the School of Art + Design at Missouri State University.

Lynlea, a junior at PHS, was recently awarded an Honorable Mention for her artwork “Gone Fishin’” by the jurors of Missouri State University’s Virtual Juried Exhibition for High School Art and Design Students. Lynlea’s artwork was one of just 145 artworks given special citations or awards, with 728 works submitted by students from 10 states. The virtual exhibition opens June 1, 2026.

“We are incredibly proud of Lynlea,” said Patty Wenzel, art teacher at PHS. “She dedicates herself to consistently improving her art skills by exploring different mediums and subject matter. She is developing a distinct style that will continue to be recognized for its thoughtful composition, strong technical skill, and expressive use of color and form.”

Lynlea is a member of the PHS Art Club and the local chapter of the National Art Honor Society.
