The baby Forstens Tortoise is doing great! 🥰 This critically endangered species can be quite aggressive towards other tortoises, so it needs to be housed individually. Our goal is to create an assurance colony for these amazing turtles from Sulawesi Island!

Rest in peace to my fake plants. The new Home's Hingeback Tortoises are just plowing through them. 🤦🏼‍♀️And no, they will not eat them. My redfoots on the other hand, will go straight for fake greenery. 🙄

Excuse my bruised up hand. I had recently gotten out of the hospital and both arms looked pretty nasty from all the IV and blood draws. Especially since my veins are not cooperative, and the first worker was new with needles. 😬 Anyhow, check out the size of this Mastodon tooth compared to my hand! 😮

Don't blink! Our elusive Batanta Island Peach Throat Monitor was out and about yesterday. That is, until he saw me. Then, quick as a flash, he was gone!

A close friend gifted me a Gaboon viper fang recently. How cool is that?! Sometimes it is the little things that can make my day! Gaboon vipers have the longest fangs of any venomous snake on Earth, sometimes reaching a length of 2 inches.

There are over 8,000 different species of frogs and toads. I believe amphibians are often over-looked and underrated. What frog and toad species do you see in your yard?

There seems to be a dispute about how many snake species are in the world. Most sources state slightly over 4,000, but the Encyclopedia Britannica claim we are up to 5,000 species, with 600 being venomous. Regardless of exact numbers, there are many incredible and beautiful species out there. Do you have a favorite snake species? Can't pick one? Give me your top three! 😁
