I mentioned this once and the response was fantastic. I'll bring it to light again. Those interested in resurrecting the Perry Community Theater with "A Christmas Carole" in December? I've been working on adapting a script which is taking much longer than expected, but coming along nicely. Looking at a cast of 20+, all ages, along with musicians, set designers, props, lights/sound, costumes, tickets, marketing... WHEW!!! We can make this as elaborate or simple as we want, but as my good friend Dana would say "This ain't going to be no dog and pony show!" I would love to have an exploratory meeting soon for those interested. Let me know if you are seriously interested and we'll set up a time before summer starts. Thanks!

And last, but certainly not least, there's this classic

“It was a cold Friday evening when the doorbell rang at Mrs Molloy’s house. When she answered the door, Pat Glynn, her husband’s manager at the brewery, stood on the doorstep.

‘Pat. Hello. Where’s my husband? He should have been home from work 3 hours ago?’

The man sighed. ‘I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this, Mrs Molloy, but there was an accident over in the brewery. Your husband fell into a vat of Guinness and drowned’.

‘Oh my God’ she replied. ‘Please tell me it was quick?!’

‘Well… no. It wasn’t. He climbed out 4 times to take a p**s.”

And as Porky would say "Yabbabdi Yabbabdi Yabbabdi That's all folks!

I love this one. It was told to me every St. Patrick's Day at Michael's Pub by Mr. Stan Stewart, one of the nicest guys I was proud to have known! He had told me this story many times and I looked forward to it. It wasn't just the joke, but the way he told it. Aye, he had the lilt!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tim came home one afternoon to find his wife in a shamble. Her dress was torn. She had scratches, scrapes, messed up hair and a black eye. Tim was angry.

"You've been over to Mrs. Murphy's again, haven't ya Meg. Every time you two get together, it's always a fight. I've had enough Meg. I FORBID you to ever see her again!"

The next night Tim came home as usual and again saw his wife with new scratches, scrapes and bruises. Her hair again in a mess and her other eye black.

"Meg" he says "You went a saw Mrs. Murphy again. Even after I had forbid it!"

Meg said "It's not me fault this time Tim. It's not my fault. You know I have a doctor appointment tomorrow. You know they told me I was to have a Urinalysis. You know I know nothing about medicine, so I don't know what this is. I've been very upset and nervous.... and too embarrassed to ask. Then I saw Mrs. Murphy hanging her laundry on the line. It was then I remember she had been a nurse. So I simply went over and asked her what's a Urinalysis."

"What did she say?" Tim asked.

"She told me to p**s in a bottle. I told her to s**t in her hat and the fight was on!!"

Thank you Stanley!!

So Pat died and his final request was to have his brothers, Tim and Mike, pour a bottle of Irish whiskey on his grave. So later that night, the two went to the cemetery, sat on Pat's grave and opened the bottle. But instead of pouring, Tim started drinking. "Tim!" Mike exclaimed "You're not suppose to drink it! Just pour it on his grave!" Tim took another pull and said "I didn't think Pat would mind if we strained it through our kidneys first"

I always have said when I retire, I want to put on A Christmas Carol through the Perry Community Theater. Putting out feelers now to see if there's any interest. I would love to play Scrooge, but would try out like all others. Would need a minimum 15 character actors, adult and children. Director, Set designer/crew, costumes, lights/sound, props, costumes and that's just a start. Did I mention costumes? We have no money... yet. This could be as big or small as we want, depending on the interest, but would require lots of time, energy and imagination. Would love to present next December. Thoughts?
