For just a little moment, on Tuesday afternoon, a group of very busy people all put down thier phones and created something.

We planned, sketched, and sunsetted our own landscapes inspired by Perry's famous clock tower. And while the outcomes were all lovely, the process and that moment is what we will remember.

This week the city of Perry hosted the Georgia Economic Placemaking Collaborative, Georgia Arts Innovation Network, and Georgia Council for the Arts and little ole me was lucky enough to lead a lunch & learn for them.

Everyone had the opportunity to put down their business brain and dust off their art brain. Beacuse there's nothing quite like creating something all your own. Like taking a small break from the big picture, and having a moment for yourself to play, to create, and to expirement.

And yes, they did leave with a painted postcard, but maybe they left with something else too. Maybe a spark of a new hobby, or a memory of a time they loved art, or maybe just an extra breath of fresh air for the day.

Whenever people ask what we do at the studio, I say we have art classes, but what really happens is so much more ❤️

If the cool air isn't enough of a sign that Fall is here, all these spooktacular paintings should be!

It's full on Halloween at the studio now 🐈‍⬛️🎃☠️🕸

Not only are our adult classes Halloweenified, but weve got two kid classes and two kids camps ready for your mini artists to get creative!

Our ever popular GLOW themes are back for Fall Break kid camps! You can choose from Glow Carnival (inspired by our favorite Georgia National Fairgrounds) and Glow Halloween! They may be spooky, but these camps won't be scary ❤️

Just the biggest thank you to Megan and her amazing crew The Perfect Pear Catering, LLC. We had the best time making our own perfect pears and cant wait to do it again!

As long as we have women supporting women, Perry nights like these stay possible 😘

And the friendship, the creativity, and the fun make all the work of a small business worth it.

Jot the date and join us this Sunday at 1pm. All types of writers welcome. We will discuss what we'd like to see at future meetings and what would help our local writers most!

Whether your just looking to connect to other writers, challenge your writing skills with mini prompts, or share your current works, we want to provide the space to grow 🌿

Then at 3pm, we will have our monthly book club. September's book is The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali 📚
