Watts of Love our charity/foundation!

Our last day of light distributions in Malawi was, not surprisingly, our most emotional. All distributions are humbling, inspiring, moving, deeply emotional ... honestly, more adjectives than I can list. But this one was special.

We had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with the brutally persecuted albino community of Benga Parish. Today, in 2019, there are still witch doctors who hunt albinos for their body parts, which are believed to have magic powers.

Imagine already being the poorest of the poor, but also having an abundance of added life threatening burdens.

We spent the afternoon with these sweet, beautiful people (adults and children), hearing their stories and connecting with them, human to human.

Watts of Love is committed to providing solar lights to all of the albinos of the Benga Parish in Malawi. With safe, free light, they are saving much more money than most people, because they are typically forced inside all day and night and need more batteries and candles than an average villager.

Now, these albino people can afford to buy seeds and can see at night to farm in the dark and grow food for their starving children! I love a joyful solution!
