Shell Art Design

Shell Art Design Shell art - combining sea shells and sand to create beautiful flowers and pictures framed in shadow boxes. Hi! Thought you might like to know a little about me.
(5)

I am a senior. I will spare you the whole life story. Briefly I worked, retired, worked, retired and worked and retired once again. I am trying to keep the retired status at this point. Hopefully “SHELL ART DESIGN” is going to help me do that. SHELL ART DESIGN started in 2016 in Florida. I was walking along the beach picking up shells that I had never seen before. They were so beautiful, purple, p

ink, white and grey. My crafters brain went into high gear. These shells look like the petals of a flower. These shells look like butterflies. My brain was spinning. My pockets were filling up. I need a bag to put all these shells in. I need to take them home and create “WORKS OF ART”. When I got home, I worked on the sand process. After several tries, I found a secret formula to make the sand work and the shells stick. So in April 2016, I went public. I showed my first pieces to my friends and family. My friends and family were so supportive and encouraged me to share them with others. Since then I have been happily creating, collecting and sharing these “WORKS OF ART”. In addition to Florida, I also collect in Rehoboth. Friends have shared their shell collections with me. I have sand from several different places. I also embellish with vintage jewelry. A little bling never hurt anybody. I added pictures of sun sets and beach scenes. Then I saw a great picture of my grandson, Eddie (a dog) at the beach and forged forward into “Custom Shell Art”. For Christmas and other special occasions, I made several custom Shell Arts using the customer’s pictures, shells, vintage jewelry and sand to create personalized “WORKS OF ART.
