I love this quote, and it sums up this year. Continuing on the journey to understand my true self, to accept that as a worthwhile endeavor, and believe that that is a worthy way to spend a life.

What's up internet land!?

For anyone interested I am starting to host a radio show .9fm , the local community radio station where I currently live. "Inside A Millennial Mind" is the name of the show which airs on Wednesday nights at 11pm. I don't talk about my actual job on here almost ever, mostly because work has never been something I gain a lot of energy from. My main job for the past fifteen years as an adult has been being a carpenter. I work hard and am good at what I do, but no project I have done this whole time has really made me excited or made me feel overly proud of what I do. Recently I had the opportunity to do the finish work on a set of stairs. All stain grade oak, all mitered skirtboard and risers, in other words very detailed, very precise.

I can confidently say that in all my 15 years in the trade this project is the one that I have the most pride in doing! I love how they turned out! It was a new experience and yet nothing I couldn't handle. Also it was the perfect mixture of woodworking and finish carpentry, which are the two things I really do enjoy doing!

Lyric writing is so hard for me, always has been. I don't know if it's my perfectionist side wanting to say just the right thing or not being able to truly express myself honestly, but it's difficult.

Now, I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't understand poetry, like what is it!? When is something a poem, or not a poem! Lol! Recently I've dabbled. Having a thought about something and jotting it down, with, what I would call, some intentional form to it.

The relief and satisfaction I've gotten from expressing myself this way has been a very pleasant surprise this year. I really cannot explain why, but there is just something different about about having a slight intentional flow to something rather then just writing in a journal. Also there is some freedom for me of not having to match lyrics to music.

I was inspired by .a.tyson to share a few.

I will admit though, sharing a poem does have the same vulnerability of sharing a song!

Been enjoying the room/taste mic in the foyer, gives a nice room sound. Also, the classic knee mic never disappoints with a nice overall kit capture.

Everyone got a little love yesterday. New strings and at least one new head, lol. I liked the way the older heads sounded on the two rack toms to much to change the heads. Lol, whatever works!

Also, my hands got WAY to sweaty when changing my guitar strings, hahaha. Still freaks me out after all this time!

Make sure you get out of the studio every once in a while. It clears your head and your ears!

Some friends and I did a hike in the Hammersley Wild Area in northern PA this past weekend. There are no words to describe how much I love being in the woods in the middle of nowhere. It reminds me how big and beautiful the world is.
