Our nature journaling group had plans to draw weeds this morning at the wonderfully overgrown and unused Sellersville train station, but just yesterday it was weeded and mowed. We moved across the street to the somewhat scruffy Druckenmiller Park and found lots to draw.

Nature Journaling participants had their first meetup on Saturday at the pond and gardens of the Community at Rockhill. The rain in the forecast held off, and people seemed to enjoy the peaceful setting.

The pond is full of carp, some very large, skimming the surface with their orange mouths wide open. The red-winged blackbirds are territorial, and sang loudly to warn us off. The resident's gardens are so lush! We hope to be back.

As always, getting together at the end to share what we noticed is the best!

6 Weeks I Explore the Beauty of the Underwater World through Light, Shadow and Texture

Dive into a six-week exploration of the fascinating forms and textures found beneath the ocean's waves. Working from carefully selected reference photographs, we'll create four expressive charcoal and white chalk drawings inspired by the remarkable creatures and natural forms of the sea. Using texture and the drama of light and dark, you'll discover how charcoal can bring the mystery and beauty of ocean life to your paper.

Whether your goal is to strengthen your drawing skills or to find fresh inspiration, this class offers step-by-step instruction in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

Sunday Class*
Sundays 1-3:30 pm
September 13-October 18 (six weeks)
$210 (includes paper fee- a modest materials list will be send upon registration)

Friday Class*
Fridays 9:30 am-12 pm
October 30-December 11 (six weeks; no class on November 27)
$210 (includes the paper fee- a modest materials list will be send upon registration).

* The subjects in the Sunday class will not be repeated in the Friday class.
