Rick Jensen, Brainerd, MN high school current fish decoy carving teacher. Yes, two classes. Rick has relied on the National Fish Decoy Association for all his white pine carving wood since he took over the classes. Rick was a student of Bob Johnson's (deceased and former Board Member).
Rick came over a few weeks ago for the last of our carving wood. He is pictured with Rod Osvold, founding member, and John Peeters.
Rod purchased a semi-load of white pine logs years ago for the school supply. This was the last of it. In fact, Rod has sent wood to the classroom for over 25 years.
We are now looking for the next person to fund the carving wood for students. White cedar or white pine. The NFDA is now a 501(c)(3), so anyone who is interested in becoming a sponsor of the next generation of carvers, please get in touch.
