it’s crazy how much can change in just one week…

a week ago, i was making sure every little detail was in place for my association’s annual meeting—one of the biggest events on my professional calendar

and just like that, everything shifted

instead of preparing for an annual meeting, i found myself preparing for a hurricane, making decisions, navigating uncertainties, and trying to stay one step ahead of something completely out of my control

it’s funny how quickly life can go from one extreme to another

and maybe that’s what makes moments like this so special

so, here’s our reminder that no matter how much life changes, how quickly plans unravel, or how overwhelming things become…

there’s still so much beauty waiting on the other side

tonight, someone asked me if anything special had happened today

at first, my answer was no

until God said, uh, ma’am… are we forgetting something

something had been on my heart all day, and in that moment God was making room for someone to speak into my life in a way i didn’t even realize i needed

sometimes the most special moments are the ones God is working within us

the emotional whirlwind this storm has brought over the last several days

it’s been a lot

but, i finally found a moment to step away from the noise

to sit
to breathe
to let my mind be still for just a little while

for this one little moment, i don’t have to do anything but be here and right now, that’s more than enough

when you look at these two photos, you probably just see a bird and a squirrel and you would be correct

but what you don’t see is that these two wonderful creatures somehow became the talk of the entire day at work

when i look back through my camera roll, i don’t just see pictures

i remember the moments that came with them

and more often than not, those memories make me smile all over again

never knowing where the flight will take them

they simply spread their wings
catch the wind
and go

God doesn’t always show us where He’s taking us
before He asks us to trust Him

we may not know where we’ll land
or what we’ll see along the way

but we know the One who does

and maybe that’s all we really need to know before we take flight
