Peoria Ballet Company 60th Anniversary Season This performance has been a Peoria tradition for more than 45 years!

Peoria Ballet is a non-profit organization celebrating 60 years of providing the finest in dance performance and dance education to Central Illinois. Our annual production of The Nutcracker features live orchestra music, professional guest artists from NYC dancing the roles of Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier, and more than 100 of the Academy’s own dancers. Each season also features a full-length the

ater production in the spring. The Peoria Ballet also collaborates with other arts and non-profit organizations in an effort to ensure the art of dance continues to be strong and vibrant in the community. Peoria Ballet is housed in a 12,000 square foot facility with four modern studios, a costume shop, and extensive prop storage. We offer classical ballet instruction for children ages 3 and up, including a pre-professional program for students interested in pursuing dance as a career. In addition to ballet, we offer modern, tap, hip hop, jazz, contemporary and adult ballet classes for all levels of students.

Behind the curtain of Swan Lake 🤍

The final scene opens to 24 swans emerging from the fog. A visually stunning moment, and a tough breathing act for the dancers!

Watch them “dive” into the fog at the last possible second before the curtain rises. Then, hear the “oohs” and “ahhs” from the audience.

This morning, we welcomed over 800 area school children and seniors to our in-theater outreach performance of Swan Lake. There’s nothing quite like seeing students experience the magic of ballet for the first time! 🤩

We’re so grateful to the Gilmore Foundation for their funding support, which made it possible to offer free tickets and provide meaningful exposure to the arts to those who would otherwise not have access.
