5 signs you’ve lost your creative spark

You keep saving ideas, tutorials, and inspiration, but you never actually start.

You miss creating, but when you finally have time, you go blank.

You have ideas, but every choice feels too big.

You see other people’s creative work and it makes you feel further away from your own, instead of inspired.

You avoid the old sketchbooks, the supplies, the half-finished drafts. They make you sad instead of excited.

The pull is still there. It just feels heavy now.

That doesn’t mean your spark is gone.

It might mean life buried it under exhaustion, pressure, perfectionism, and everything else you’ve had to carry.

I run DIYvinci mostly by myself.

No marketing team. No staff. My mom and sister jump in when they can, and our brand ambassadors carry pieces of this too.

But most days, it's me, two cats judging me from the desk, and whatever capacity I've got that day.

Some weeks I post daily. Some weeks I disappear for two.

My brain doesn't run on a consistent schedule. Neither does this business anymore. I stopped apologizing for that a while ago.

I used to think I had to build DIYvinci around the version of me who could keep up, batch content, follow the plan, and never drop the thread.

That version doesn't exist.

So I'm building around the one who does.

The one who works in bursts. The one who needs room to disappear and come back. The one who still cares, even when she goes quiet.

That's part of why DIYvinci exists.

Creativity, community, and business shouldn't only work for people with endless energy and perfectly organized brains.

Anyone else building around the brain they actually have, not the one they wish they had?

"For a while, nothing demanded anything from me.

Not the Archive. Not the Order. Not even myself.

And for the first time that day, I stopped looking for what was missing."

A moment from inside the Archive of Lost Ideas.

Starting July 1!

You've never quite fit into other creative spaces, and you've probably stopped expecting to.

This one's different.

It's not about finishing things, posting your best work, or keeping up.

It's for makers, daydreamers, scribblers, burnout survivors, and neurodivergent creatives who use making as their way back to themselves.

Come as you are. Messy desk, unfinished projects, blank pages and all.

We'll spend an hour scrolling without a second thought.

But an hour drawing? An hour with paint, or yarn, or whatever's been sitting in the closet?

That needs a reason.

A finished thing.

A skill leveling up.

Content.

Something to show for it.

Funny how "I just wanted to" is the one explanation we never let ourselves use.

The cat and I are both pretending this was the plan. 😅

Every half-finished thing in that closet, that drawer, that pile, started because something in you said yes.

Yes, that.
Yes, this too.
Yes, I want to see what that looks like.

It didn't have to get finished for that yes to count.

Finish this sentence:
The project currently side-eyeing me from across the room is ___.

Mine's been there since March. We're not talking right now.

If you've ever caught yourself saying:

"I used to draw."

"I used to write."

"I used to make things."

You might belong here.

Somewhere between imagination and memory, lost creative ideas wait to be found.

The Archive is a creative refuge for people who miss making things. Built around an unfolding story, recovered artifacts, and small creative projects designed to help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that everyday life left behind.

Founding lifetime membership is $197 and open through September.

After that it moves to $14 a month.

I wrote a story this weekend for the first time in probably ten years.

Like actual sit down, build a scene, make you feel something kind of writing. And I forgot how much I loved it.

This story has been living in my head for so long and it's finally starting to take shape and I just... I'm so excited about it. Like genuinely can't stop thinking about it excited.

The Archive is going to be something. I really believe that.

And the best part? Each story works on its own. You don't have to have read the last one to fall into the next one. Think of them like episodes.

I already have the first two months in progress, and I haven't wanted to stop.

More soon!
