Sometimes creating isn't the exhausting part. Getting started is.

Choosing a project. Finding the supplies. Deciding what to make. Hoping it turns out well. Sometimes that takes more energy than the creating itself.

Swipe for a few ways to create when you're running on empty. 🎨

Confidence rarely comes back all at once.

It comes back in small evidence: a page finished, a color tried, a thing you didn’t delete this time.

Zahra recently shared this about Creatette:

“Just wanted to come on here and say how obsessed I am with the creatette.app. It feels like having my own mini Pinterest mood board and helps me keep track of my art progress and share it with others. It’s been helping me a lot boost my confidence after losing all my art.”

That last part stayed with me.

When your creative work disappears, gets abandoned, or scatters across devices and half-finished folders, you lose more than the files. You lose the visible proof that you’re still making progress.

Creatette gives your ideas, inspiration, supplies, and works in progress somewhere to live together.

Not so you can be perfectly organized.

So you can look back and see: I made this. I tried that. I am still creating.

Creatette is free to start. Pro is $7 a month when you want more room to grow.

"Do not let politeness make you disappear from your own life."

A line from Entry #002 of the Archive of Lost Ideas.

For years, my creative work was always the easiest thing to put aside.

There was a client deadline. Someone else's business needed something. Paid work had to come first because financial stability mattered.

My own ideas could wait. They were not asking anything from me, and no one would be disappointed if I pushed them aside again.

But when you become very good at being useful to other people, it gets easy to go missing from it.

I kept helping other people make their ideas real while mine waited quietly in a drawer.

This line found me while I was editing Entry #002, and I have not stopped thinking about it since.

Entry #002 is live in the Archive. diyvinci.com/archive

How many unfinished projects are quietly taking up space in your brain because you feel like you still owe them something?

We are often taught that finishing is what gives a project value. If we stop halfway or change direction, the whole thing can start to feel like wasted time.

But creative projects can serve many purposes. The half-knit scarf that's been sitting in a bag since March might not need to become a scarf. Maybe it already taught you how to fix a dropped stitch, or gave you something to do with your hands during a stretch of time you just needed to get through.

The completed object is not the only possible outcome.

You are allowed to look at an unfinished project and decide that it already gave you what you needed.

What is one project that mattered, even though you never finished it?
