Save the date! 📅 Cathie Crawford will be hosting an Artist Talk at ArtsPartners’ Follow Your Arts Gallery on Saturday, September 12th from 12:30pm - 1:00pm.

She’ll be giving away her secrets on how she creates such stunning prints! Her talk will cover what relief printing is, why she does it, her reduction process, and how she uses mylar stencils and blending rolls to expand the color possibilities. She will also bring in a few woodcut matrices and photos to demonstrate her process.

📌 Cathie will be exhibiting her work at the ArtsPartners’ Follow Your Arts Gallery starting September 4th and be on display through the end of the month. Don’t miss out on seeing “Once Upon a Matrix” Woodcuts by Cathie Crawford.

Andrew and Jamie Wyeth spent much of their careers painting Maine, yet the worlds they depicted could hardly be more different. Victoria Browning Wyeth explores how her grandfather Andrew turned his close observation toward the people and places of Cushing and Port Clyde, while her uncle Jamie created an intimate world of animals, island characters, and everyday life on Monhegan and Southern Island.

Our 65th season is going to be filled with exploring, expanding and enlivening! I was delighted by this painting and hope it reminds you of the best of summer. In March, we will get to see even more Winslow Homer when we are visited by Dr. Christina Michelon of the MFA in Boston.

This presentation will be on March 11. Our talks start October 8 and are monthly at 9:30 on the second Thursday of the month at Peoria Riverfront Museum unless otherwise noted.
