What makes Maestro Stelluto both an amazing conductor and Music Director? This year marks 17 seasons that he has been with the PSO, having joined us in the 2010-2011 Season. He has performed in major concert halls internationally, including in Europe, South America, and Asia. He has guest conducted for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and New York City Ballet, among others. Additionally, he spent 12 years as Juilliard's Resident Conductor— his alma mater from which he received the first ever Artist Diploma in Conducting.

Maestro Stelluto is well known for cross-cultural music performances and innovative programming and collaborations. Since joining the PSO, he has brought in 217 guest artists, including over 100 major or rising guest artists. He has performed with the orchestra at 31 venues, conducted 12 world premieres, and participated in over 500 outreach events. His talent also extends to both spoken and written word— including an innate ability to tell the story of the pieces and composers he's chosen— and as a poet writing a themed piece for nearly every concert we perform.

"Maestro Stelluto is more than a conductor. He is a world-class artist with a HUGE heart that wants to share his passion with everyone he meets. I made my decision to come to Peoria to serve in this role because of the partnership I knew I would have with George. Peoria is so very fortunate to have him leading in our arts and music scene. And it is an honor to serve our community through music alongside him!" - Dr. Lacey Phelps, PSO's new Executive Director
