🐒 August 15 is Day of the Cotton-top Tamarin!

Tomorrow, we’re giving a little extra attention to these little primates and the big conservation story behind them.

Native to Colombia, cotton-top tamarins are one of the most endangered primates in the world. Their survival is closely tied to the forests they call home, making efforts to protect both the species and its habitat incredibly important.

If you’re at Peoria Zoo this weekend, stop by the Tropics Building and spend some time getting to know our cotton-top tamarins! You can also pick up coloring and activity sheets in the Lodge to learn a little more along the way. 🌿
