Maybe it’s still August, but we can practically hear them already! 😉 Christmas in the Village will be here before we know it, bringing twinkling lights, cozy nights, and all the Christmas magic back to the Peoria Riverfront Museum. 🎄❤️ 🎅

The countdown to our five year anniversary celebration is officially on!

Five years ago, it all began with a simple idea: to create a place where the magic of Christmas could come to life right here in Peoria... a place filled with twinkling lights, carriage rides, holiday music, festive traditions, and families and friends coming together to make memories. 🎄❤️✨

In 2022, Alison Unkovich brought that vision to life at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Inspired by her years as an educator, the Village was created with an even greater purpose in mind: supporting the Museum’s Every Student Initiative, which provides curriculum-connected Museum experiences to students throughout Central Illinois. 🍎

What started as a dream has grown into a beloved Peoria holiday tradition. This year, we get to celebrate FIVE years of Christmas in the Village. 🫶

🎄 Could your tree become the centerpiece of Christmas in the Village 2026?

Each year, we look for a beautiful evergreen to become the heart of the Village. Last year's magnificent 75-foot, 9,500-pound Norway spruce, illuminated with more than 40,000 lights, welcomed thousands of visitors and helped create unforgettable holiday memories for our community. ✨

Do you have an evergreen tree on your property that is in danger of encroaching on other plants or buildings, is scheduled for removal, or is causing a potential safety concern? It may just be a perfect match!

Here's what we're looking for:

✨ Evergreen tree, at least 50 feet tall
✨ Beautiful, symmetrical shape
✨ Ideally already has a reason to be removed

Thanks to our friends at Green View Landscaping, we'll work with the selected property owner to safely remove the tree and give it a new life as the centerpiece of Christmas in the Village. 🌲

Merry Christmas in July! ❤️🎄☀️

This week, we gathered with our wonderful friends and sponsors for the annual Christmas in the Village Sponsor Luncheon, and it was the perfect way to kick off preparations for Christmas in the Village 2026! ✨

We're already hard at work dreaming, planning, and creating another unforgettable Village at the Peoria Riverfront Museum... and trust us, we have so much in store this year. 👀
