Service, sacrifice, and community were at the heart of the celebrations as our Chief Financial Officer, John Collins, joined the Washington Nationals and Hillary R. of Dog Tag Bakery to present a $62,000 Runs for the Brave donation.

The night also recognized Dog Tag alumni Nerissa A., an Air Force military spouse empowering others through creativity, and Aaron F., a 30-year Army Veteran using sports to create opportunities and promote mental wellness in his community.

There's a lot that makes Navy Federal special—and on World Gratitude Day, we get to brag a little about the team members who take it to the next level.

Meet Araceli M., who has made it her mission to support members like Retired Lieutenant Commander Erich G. beyond the call throughout her 20-year career. She was there for Erich through 2 tours of duty and even helped pick the venue and cake for his retirement ceremony.

Araceli’s branch is on a bootcamp base serving mostly recruits, so her team takes those conditions into consideration and makes an extra effort to be welcoming and positive. Their work has even been recognized—the branch got the Department of the Navy Award at Naval Station Great Lakes in 2024.
