Five Flags Speedway Would Like to Say THANK YOU! ❤️

There simply aren’t enough words to express how grateful we are to Doug and Keith Thorpe, Thorpe Electric, P***y Mitchell and so many others who have stepped up to help us after the hurricane.
Since the night the hurricane came through, these incredible people have worked tirelessly, putting in long hours and giving so much of themselves to help restore Five Flags Speedway. They have worked endlessly alongside us, and their dedication, hard work, and willingness to lend a hand have meant more to us than they will ever know.
The Thorpe family is truly something special, and they have been an incredible asset to this racetrack. We are blessed to have people like them in our corner, not just during difficult times, but as part of the Five Flags Speedway family.
When something like this happens, you quickly realize that it takes more than a racetrack to make a racetrack. It takes good people, big hearts, and a community willing to come together when it matters most.
Doug, Keith, the entire Thorpe family, Thorpe Electric, P***y Mitchell and everyone who has helped us along the way — THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts! We could never say it enough, and we will never take your hard work, generosity, and friendship for granted.
We are truly blessed, and we are forever grateful! ❤️🙏

Show Us Your Flag: Snowball Derby Introduces New Bonus Program

The landmarks of what makes Pensacola, Florida, the city of Five Flags can be seen in all 300 laps of the Snowball Derby. As the field swings around the third turn, the five flags of the five nations that have ruled over Pensacola are waving as the Super Late Models circle back to the home stretch. The history of flags reaches far back, further than the Snowball Derby, as Pensacola was settled in 1559.

This year, the staff at Five Flags Speedway are encouraging drivers to add a sticker or decal of their state flag to their roof in front of their names to show where they are from. The highest-finishing driver with a state flag or county flag decal next to their name on the roof above the driver's door will receive an extra $1,000.

“Each year we continue to be impressed with the travel that drivers do to be a part of the Snowball Derby,” said track General Manager Tim Bryant. “Years ago it was a bunch of guys from Florida and some outsiders, but now it’s Minnesota, Wisconsin, California, New Hampshire, Virginia, Washington; the list is growing each year, and we want drivers to represent themselves and where they are from.”

In 2025, the Snowball Derby featured drivers from 16 different states and two Canadian provinces. This does not include drivers who did not make the main event or drivers running in the support divisions.

With the extra flags on their cars, they will all still be chasing the checkered flag and the $50,000 payday as the winner of the Snowball Derby. The Snowball Derby gets underway with rig parking on Wednesday, December 2nd.

The action heats up with a full day of practice on Thursday, December 3rd. This all leads into the first round of feature events on Thursday night for the Pro Trucks, Street Stock, and Pure Stock divisions.

From there, Snowball Derby qualifying will take place on Friday, December 4th after another full day of practice. The nightcap will feature The Modifieds of Mayhem and the Crown Stock Invitational.

Saturday, December 5th is a busy day as teams have one last chance to find speed before the last chance races and the Snowflake 125 that night. The Outlaws will finish off the night with a 75-lap dash.

Snowball Derby Sunday will close out the week with the green flag taking place at 1 pm CT.

As a community we are seeing our region in the sunlight for the first time this morning since the storm has passed.

We do have some damage at the speedway and we are without power, much like the rest of Pensacola. It’s gonna take some work to get this cleaned up, but we didn’t see any major damage. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in December. At this time, we want to share our thoughts and prayers with the rest of the region.
