Litter Boxes Guitar and Bass pedal boards custom patch bays and cabling simplification with Cat5/6 technology

10/14/2024

Getting ready to do a small run of LitterBoxes in standard format, which will come with stenciled artwork on raw boxes. And get my parts order in for the LooperScooper prototype.
Will be setting up a storefront this week as well. Thanx for looking

Getting ready to start on the new pedal looper project that uses the Litter Boxes format.
4 cable method with 1 cable.....and a hand full of short patch cords.
This looper will have 6 true bypass loops with TRS connection for space saving. A mono guitar input, for grounding purposes and the ability to put a Tuner, Volume and Wah pedal in front of the system.
4 of the loops will be assignable to either FX loop or front end for flexibility.
It will have 6 foot switches with analog loop assignment for each switch, LED indicators, as well as assignable amp control for each switch that can switch channels and/or operate reverb.
All switching will be canceling. Meaning each of the 6 switches is a patch of selected loops. By stepping on a different switch, that new patch will cancel the current selection.
The prototype will be a mono system. However, a stereo loop option will be available without the DC supply, and include a "Cati-illite" box for a 2nd amp connection.
Internal DC supply for powering pedals. The prototype will have 2 isolated 9v 1amp outputs. Run analog pedals on one, and digital pedals on the other.
I plan to offer options for selectable 9/12/18/24v outputs in the future.
Keeping in line with the 1st Litter Boxes, the amp end box will be dual buffered for picking up long cable runs.

Just want to say thanx for the page visits. I haven't been promoting much at all. But I guess there is interest.
If you want to know more details hit the messenger.
I am more than happy to chat about LitterBoxes and the practically endless options that can be done.
At the moment I am only doing custom builds. Turn around is about 2 weeks to delivery. I am a one man shop and I don't keep a big stock parts. Parts are ordered per build. Which takes about 3 days to get to me.
The builds take several hours as I do it all by hand.
The money for every one I sell goes straight to parts to build more of the base model.
I would also like to build a pedal looper with the LitterBox hook up.
Maybe even some big box multi pedal rigs.
"Clone Ship" hahah. Put all your faves in one box with a loop and amp control. Hmmm

Prototype is done man.
What we have is a fully grounded, shielded, and buffered interface system for 4 cable method hook up with DC power, using a single cat6 cable.

Board Box connections from top to bottom, left to right
*Chassis grounded guitar input on left.
*Guitar Main output to front row drive chain or modeling device input on right.
*FX loop send.
*TRS footswitch input.
*FX loop return, buffered send towards amp.
*Mains Return, buffered towards amp.
*Locking XLR style Ethercon connection on left.
*DC output, 2.1mm with lifted ground...

The amp end box connections from top to bottom,
left(front) to right(rear)
*Aux line out, buffered from FX send.
*FX loop send input, buffered towards board.
*FX loop return output.
*TRS footswitch output. *Mains Return to amp input.
*DC input. 2.1mm female.
*Locking XLR style Ethercon jack.
This build utilizes Neutrik 1/4" TR, TRS, and RJ45 connections.
This build is designed to be used with a particular model cat cable that is direct burial grade sleeving, made with 4 individually shielded, twisted pairs of stranded 23g oxygen free copper wire, that are then shielded again. Both ends are shielded. Soldered grounds, and Neutrik locking cable ends.

DC power is being supplied by a 9v 1700ma OneSpot....it provides power too to buffers and pedals. However the buffers can easily handle up to a 24v supply, and the DC jacks can be swapped with different sizes to more easily accommodate single units with 2.4mm jacks.
The cable is rated to handle 300volts. So direct 110v plugs can also be installed for those that prefer bricks.
Other connection configurations are also available
for modeling floor boards or custom setups.
Dual mains
Stereo fx loop
No footswitch.
This can also be installed directly into any amp or board unit with enough room to mount the RJ45 panel connector and still maintain the original connectivity options.

All testing is complete for the prototype. All circuits are fully functional and more importantly quiet.
Just need a 24mm hole maker.
Should have some pics and video tomorrow.

Parts are arriving for the 1st prototype.
Dual buffer boards: check
Led rockers: check
Neutrik jacks: check
125b cases: check
Rest of the stuff.............
This 1st build is going to be the base model and have amp through with dual bypass-able buffered outputs at both ends, FX loop with bypass-able buffered send/return, and dual button amp footswitch control thru with TRS at both ends for easy single TRS or break out cable use.
External 2.1mm DC pass thru...featuring isolated grounding for zero noise.
Power front end and loop on the same supply. No more looking for power at the front of the stage.
Lay out options are plentiful and they can be configured for any board placement.
And a 3rd "jump box" option for dual amp use is also on the drawing board
