Goodbyes are always hard.
As we packed up and said goodbye to family, I couldn’t help but think about how much has changed in the last year.
Losing my dad reminded me of something we all know, but often forget: none of us are promised tomorrow.
Life gets busy. We put off phone calls. We assume there will be another holiday, another visit, another chance to say the things that matter most.
But the truth is, we never know when a hug will be the last one, when a conversation will become a cherished memory, or when “see you later” will turn into “I wish I had one more moment.”
That’s why I’ve learned to hold my loved ones a little longer, say “I love you” a little more often, and treasure every minute I get with my mom, brothers and sister-in-law Abby.
If your family and friends are there for you, don’t wait. Make the call. Take the trip. Give the hug. Create the memory.
Because one day you’ll wish you had just one more chance.
Today, my heart is grateful for the time we had together… and already missing them as we head home.
❤️ Hug your people. Tell them you love them. You never know how much a moment will mean until it becomes a memory.
