A little music. A lot of appreciation. And a well-deserved break for our Sailors.
Sailors with the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) Strike Group enjoyed two days of incredible entertainment at Naval Base Guam this weekend, thanks to country music star Brett Young and Dj Screw.
The weekend kicked off with DJ Screw getting the crowd moving before Brett Young took the stage Saturday night for a full concert — rain and all. 🌧️🎤 Despite torrential downpours, Sailors came out to enjoy the music, extended liberty, and a special Meet & Greet.
And the fun didn’t stop there. Knowing some Sailors were standing duty Saturday night, Brett Young brought the music aboard USS Abraham Lincoln on Sunday, performing multiple Shock N Awesome acoustic sessions at the mess decks and in the hangar bay, along with additional Meet & Greets for the crew.
For Sailors who have been away from home for nearly a year, moments like these can mean a lot. “It was definitely a big morale booster, especially after being gone from home for almost a year... It was just amazing seeing celebrities giving back.”
That’s what this is all about — taking care of our Sailors, creating moments of connection, and making sure as many members of the crew as possible have a chance to enjoy a well-deserved break. ⚓️🇺🇸
Thank you to Brett Young, DJ Screw and everyone who helped bring two unforgettable days of music and morale to the Lincoln Strike Group!
