Like many theater troupes and companies, our spring production was affected by Covid-19. Our rehearsals went from in-person to Zoom, our show date was postponed, postponed again, then finally cancelled. Money spent on costumes, props and sets, months of rehearsals, and these kids hopes for the show felt wasted.
RCAS' response? We decided to film it, as safe as possible! Out went the play script and in came one we adapted straight from the original book (thankfully free domain). Over the course of the last three weekends we have pulled together and filmed our fan-film of the beloved Alice in Wonderland and we have had a BLAST doing it. In the rain, in the 100+ degree Floridian humidity, from sun up to sun down.
We don't claim this to be a feature-film quality work of profession, but we do promise it is filled with hard work, love for our cast/crew, respect for the source material, and a passion for acting.
