Let's talk about Disney Cruise Line. We have bee on the Disney Dream and will be going on Disney first ship, the Magic this summer. There are a lot of Cruise ship companies out there that are wanting your business but DCL (Disney Cruise Line) is a whole different animal. DCL has itineraries going to Euope, the Bahamas, East and West Caribbean, Alaska, Australia, and soon East Asia and in the future Japan.
DCL is crazy stalker good at the little details of your Cruise. They try to make it as magical as possible for you.
On our last Cruise my daughter wanted to see the harpest on the ship but she only played in adult areas of the ship. We mentioned it to the front desk and the next day they surprised us with her playing in the atrium and she even got to talk to the harpest one on one while she was there.
In another example, we know someone who was there years before and they went on another cruise. They had the late dinning time and the wife wasn't feeling well. They then asked if there was anyway to get in early time for just that night. The staff then told them to wait a second and to there suprise they put them in the same table they dined in the first time on their anniversary with the same layout and everything.
The newer the ships are generally means the bigger the ship and better the theming it tends to be. However, no matter what ship you choose, the core elements tend to stay the same.
1. They don't have a casino in any ship as it is family friendly.
2. Most, except the Wonder, have a water slide.
3. They all have different Broadway caliber stage shows.
4. They all have a unique 3 dinner location theme rotations.
5. DCL is only Cruise Line to have fireworks.
6. All ships have two movie theaters which show movies constantly with even releasing during movie debuts that happenduring your cruise.
7. DCL has two private island locations, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay in the Bahamas.
8. All cruises are all inclusive including soft drinks, tea, coffee, and food outside of alcoholic beverages, specially drinks, specialty adult dining, fancy coffee, and some room service items.
9. On most 3 day or longer cruises there is a pirate night in the Caribbean with special dinning menu and Disney Character meet and greets.
10. On longer cruises there is a formal night for everyone to dress up.
11. DCL has some special cruises that include Merry Christmas Cruise, Very Scary Halloween Cruise, Marvel at Sea, Star Wars at Sea, and Disney Vacation Club exclusive Cruise.
12. All ships have a seperate area for kids and adults on top deck for those parents or single or married adults tring to stay away from kids.
13. All ships have adult only entertainment as well as 3 different kids clubs for everyone to hang out.
14. There is a reward program for repeat cruises where the more you go the more perks you have such as book excursions earlier, earlier boarding times and special gifts in your stateroom upon arrival.
15. Disney Characters are found throughout the ship with variety of characters and there costumes depending on cruise location, nights, and themes.
