Jill along with her husband Ron founded the Appalachian African American Cultural Center among many other great works across the region, state, and country. To say she will be missed is a great understatement.

Come out tomorrow at 3 pm and cheer on our 2022 Grand Marshall, Jill Carson.
The To***co Committee chose Mrs. Carson as the 2022 Grand Marshall for her dedication to Lee County. Her pride in the county is evident with all the time she has volunteered in the schools, the Town, and not to mention The Appalachian African American Culture Center she and her husband Ron started and continues to operate. Mrs. Carson’s wish is for everyone in Lee County to be prosperous and for Lee County can be a place where your family can be raised and enjoy the family values that Lee County is known for.
Thank you Mrs. Carson for being a true Lee Countian.
