This past Monday was the OES Youth Orchestra’s annual Bowling Night, a fun way to say goodbye to the season, enjoy camaraderie over pizza and a few bowling frames, and get hyped up next season and our Summer Strings Camp coming up in July.

If you’d like to support the OES Youth Orchestra, consider purchasing a ticket to this Saturday’s Bach Yard Party - only 5 tickets are left! Proceeds from this BBQ dinner fundraiser will support OES education programming in 2026–2027.

Acting Concertmaster Viet Block and oboist Lauren Nebel rehearse one of the Baroque era’s most captivating musical dialogues, joined by the Oregon East Symphony for our 40th Anniversary Season Finale.

Take a look at this rare print by acclaimed Pendleton artist Hiroko Cannon, which will be up for auction at the Bach Yard Party, our annual fundraiser supporting OES education programs.

Created for a 2008 OES fundraiser following the devastating fire that destroyed our Main Street office in Pendleton, this striking piece comes from an edition of only five prints.

The artwork is especially unique within Hiroko Cannon’s body of work because it features a mythological creature, the Firebird from Slavic folklore, immortalized in Igor Stravinsky’s iconic ballet “The Firebird.”
