A bit of a behind the scenes post today!

This is me, today, soaking my hands in a sink of hot water with epsom salts.

The month of May has been absolutely crazy for me in terms of everything, but I’ve basically been crocheting nonstop all month.

The things you don’t see are all the breaks, the hand stretching, the neck pain, the shoulder pain.

Crochet is hard work and it can really take a toll on your body. I can tell when I need to stop for a break or even for a day, but the other day I woke up and my hands were killing me.

Unfortunately, all of my crochet plans for my event tomorrow at the Peoria Zoo have had to take the backseat while hands get some much needed rest.

To everyone that came by TAiLS of a Bookworm yesterday to celebrate another year, y’all REALLY showed up for all of us! This event is my favorite of the year because I get to give back to a place that has given me so much. I made a post last year like this after this event talking about how overwhelmed I was by the community’s support, but this year exceeded that. I would not be able to do what I do without all of you.
