Great opening today for ’s machine painting opening. Beautiful oils and exciting watercolor experiments. Andee had a fireside chat with me and then talked with visitors via live video and it was very inspiring. His work will be up for another few weekends and it is selling so go see it while you can!

Had this neck ( #108) on the heaviest telecaster body and too heavy, never played it. Now look how pretty it is. I basically put strings on it and zing, perfect. Light and pretty. Pups are stock and just ok, so between now and next time I change strings, will be on the lookout. Pickup recs welcome.

And this concludes this stage of the walnut ink creation season. Before I pack it into smaller jars I will filter it again. Considering using the Spinzall to centrifuge it as well. Also… maybe I will try and create some rust and add iron sulphate to blacken it.

Great crowd at the opening of my Peekskill Change-Makers and Icons show at the Machine Arts Gallery. We had a short talk by Peekskill historian . We were graced by the descendants of Hawley and Harriet Green who helped folks escape slavery by being a stop on the Underground Railroad in Peekskill. The goal of the art show was to feature inspiring local change-makers and icons from our local history that can inspire us to be brave today. The group of folks who showed up to the show were inspiring too! Photos by

As a follow on to my portraits of artists who made their mark on Croton On Hudson (where I live), I’m starting a project to make portraits of folks who were change-makers and connected to Peekskill (where I work). Abraham Lincoln spoke at the Peekskill train station as he was stumping for election. I’m developing the technique I’m going to use for this series. I did a deep dive into the work of Leon Harmon who did pioneering work at bell labs around how decimated an image can be and still be recognizable. I decided my minimal threshold for decimation was that I want to be able to have it be as low resolution as possible and still see the kindness in the eyes. Tell me if you think it works.
