An update from The Artist Spot:

First and foremost, Scarlett is already extremely grateful to everyone who donated to her GoFundMe on the very first day. Your generosity, kindness, and willingness to show up during such a difficult moment have meant so much to her.

As this situation continues to evolve, we want to be as transparent as possible while also being mindful of what can responsibly be shared publicly. Earlier, the focus was simply on helping Scarlett move forward as peacefully as possible. At this time, both legal and non-legal options are being considered as the situation continues to develop.

Regardless of what path unfolds, funds raised through Scarlett’s GoFundMe will go toward supporting her during this deeply stressful and traumatic time, including the many transition-related costs she is now facing. More than anything, we want to help provide Scarlett with some real stability, relief, and breathing room.

Scarlett has given so much of herself to this community for decades, and even in her 80s, her dedication knows no bounds. We truly believe that every act of kindness shown to her now will ripple back out into the community she has served for so long.

Lana always brought such a beautiful presence with her to The Artist Spot/Antonia Arts gatherings. There was a gentleness, warmth, and creative light about her that people truly felt, and her impact on the community extended far beyond any one event. Through her art, her presence, and the way she showed up for others, she left a meaningful imprint on Peekskill. We are holding deep hope in our hearts, praying for her safe return, and sending love to all who care for her.

An important community update: after 25 years of giving so much to Peekskill’s arts community, Scarlett Antonia now needs our support.

Due to a certificate of occupancy issue affecting her commercial space at 925 South Street, Scarlett has been told she must vacate within 30 days. This has created an urgent need for help with moving, storage, transition costs, and preserving decades of costumes, props, lights, materials, and other creative items tied to years of work in this community.

If Scarlett’s productions, The Artist Spot, Ozland Festival, Wiz Kids, classes, workshops, showcases, or gatherings have meant something to you, please consider donating and sharing.

Volunteer help is also needed at 925 South Street for pack-up days:
Thursday, April 16 at 6:00 PM
Saturday, April 18 at 3:00 PM
Monday, April 20 at 4:00 PM

An important update from our founder, Scarlett Antonia:

From all of us at Antonia Arts Inc. and The Artist Spot, we want to share that within the next 30 days, Scarlett will be leaving our 925 South Street location. While this change comes as the result of a certificate of occupancy issue, this is not the end of our work. It is simply a turn in the road.

This space has held so much heart, history, & creativity. It has been home to classes, showcases, workshops, gatherings, and so many unforgettable moments filled with connection, courage, imagination, and love. People have grown here. People have found their voice here. Friendships have formed here. Dreams have taken shape here.

That is why we are asking, from the bottom of our hearts, for your support right now.

Please consider making a donation and sharing this message to friends, family, and fellow supporters who believe in the arts and in the power of community.

Your support is truly crucial at this time as we work to cover rental spaces for classes, gatherings, showcases, and workshops, as well as storage for props, materials, costumes, set pieces, etc. that help bring our creative world to life.

We are actively searching for the next place to call home, and we believe with all our hearts that this story is far from over. Sometimes life hands you lemons, and you have to turn them into something a little more emerald. Antonia Arts at The Artists’ Spot and Scarlet Antonia Productions extend heartfelt thanks to the City of Peekskill for featuring the Wiz Kids’ performance of
“Oh How We Wish Santa Were Here” from our new musical “DON’T CALL ME SANTA!” at this year’s Tree
Lighting celebration.

We’re deeply grateful for the opportunity to share a glimpse of this joyful production with our community and for allowing Peter Coogan to speak about the show and our upcoming Interactive Sneak Preview on December 28, 2025, at 3 PM at The Artists’ Spot.
The preview will feature selected scenes from the musical, behind-the-scenes insights, and a chance for the audience to offer feedback that will help shape the final production.

🌈✨ This past weekend’s Journey to Oz at the 5th Annual Ozland Festival was a celebration to remember!

Families of all ages came together in Pugsley Park to share in the magic — with singers filling the air with music, kids hula hooping alongside lyra hoop performers, and a bubble machine that had everyone grinning ear to ear. Add in dazzling costumes, storytellers, dancers, and the yellow brick road itself, and the whole park felt alive with joy. 💛

Huge thanks to our performers, vendors, volunteers, and neighbors who made the day so special. Special shoutout to Wiz Kid Ariella for performing beautifully and running her own lemonade stand. 🍋

And gratitude to Chloe Wareham-Gordon for capturing the day and sharing her own artistry as a dancer (with photos above by Matt, our videographer 🙌).

Ozland continues to shine because of all of you. Thank you for bringing your voices, your families, and your joy to this magical community tradition. ✨

From bouncy houses to storytellers reminding us of L. Frank Baum’s Peekskill days, dancers, singers, lyra performers, our own yellow brick road, free community garden food, customizable ice desserts, face paint, and so much more—this community celebration wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing vendors, volunteers, and supporters. 💛

Special shoutout to Ariella, one of our amazing Wiz Kids, who not only performed beautifully but also ran her very own lemonade stand—what a little entrepreneur! 🍋✨ And thank you to everyone who came dressed up—you made the yellow brick road even more magical. 💃🧙‍♂️🦁✨
