I absolutely love some prints on metal. In my effort to use every part of the reclaimed pallets I’ve made these stands for metal prints. Love how the burning and sanding process brings out the lovely rings of the wood.

The Lone Cypress
(Dec 2012)

I’ve been exploring my archives. This tree set on the California coast, older than the United States of America, is quite a symbol of strength. It has survived fires and battering from the sea and wind. In 2019 it did lose its left limb to a storm but she stands strong nonetheless.

I live in a place where I can paddle around a tidal island with a castle. And I have only done it once! This year that changes.

This shot was taken from the water in 2019. Prints available in A1, A2, and A3.

Jewelry hanger. Some pallet pieces don’t make it as frames but are still too lovely not to be reinvented into something new. Love the knots on either end of this piece. Did you know that knots were the base connection of a branch to the tree trunk?

Who’s ready for the leaves to be back on the trees?
🙋🏼‍♀️
These are a couple of photos from the leaf beauty I saw around my little area of southwest Cornwall last spring.

In my ‘’past life’’ I worked as compounding pharmacy technician. I was asked to head up a project to make medicine for an elephant, my favorite animal. I spent many hours gutting marshmallows (his favorite treat) only to add the compounded med I had made into said marshmallows. Then I had to seal the marshmallows back up. To say it was meticulous and time consuming would be saying the least.
🕰
My reward was getting to meet this magnificent creature and feeding him some healthier treats. It was amazing to me to feel that his trunk felt like two fingers grabbing the treats.
🍠
This is why getting to create this print is so special to me. And even more meaningful is that the print on the left is a special commission heading to the U.S.
🇺🇸
The print on the right is 16x24 in. and still available.

The Hayle estuary provided me with a pallet on my walk yesterday. So I went back got my tools and got to work deconstructing it. Will have to wait for wood to properly dry out to see if it can be salvaged.

A little after and before of what is revealed after the burn of the wood. The second photo shows the blackened wood. It looks gray because the the burn produces a bit of a shine and it is reflecting the gray Cornish sky above.

It’s been so satisfying making these poster frames and prints during lockdowns. December gave me the gift of two people liking my work so much they bought it for their home! 🤗 One was my biggest print yet with this 33 in. wide family portrait of a friend of mine and his children.

I create poster hanging frames from up cycled pallet wood to display my giclee prints on art museum loose canvas. Materials and finishes on wood are non-toxic and natural. I seal the wood with a method called shou sugi ban which uses fire to seal and protect the wood. Each frame is unique as every piece of wood reveals its own individual beauty during the firing and sanding process.

My photo gallery consists of a variety of images from around Cornwall and the rest of the world as well as just pretty images of things.

*If you have an image (family, pet or travel photo) you have been wanting to get printed and hung I am happy to work with your image so you can get it off your computer and onto your wall!
