In support of local theatre friends, Kenny Chumbley (Ludlow/Rantoul area native) is the author of a new play, The Kingdom of Dreams, A Tale of Oz. Jessie Holmes with Rantoul Theater is helping him on the show. Auditions are tomorrow night and the morning of the 24th at the First Wesleyan Church in Urbana, about a block east of Lincoln Square on Illinois St. But if someone can't make those times, they can make arrangements. If anyone is interested, the easiest thing would be for them to e-mail Kenny at [email protected] and he can get them on the audition schedule and send out the materials they need to prepare. The show will be at the Parkland Theatre in August.

A huge “CONGRATS” goes out to our own Jordan Huskisson - crowned Little Miss of America for 2020-21!! Jordan has been a cast member in our shows and credits experience gained on our little stage with her success! Great job!! How exciting! Jordan is pictured at far right.

Hello friends. This is very difficult to write, but it's with a heavy heart and even a few tears that Tom and I, as owners of our dear little theatre have made the decision to put our building up for sale. After speaking with our theatre board we do not anticipate a quick come-back after the Covid emergency. Even Broadway hasn't figured out what to do next. This does not necessarily mean the end of a theatre group in Paxton, however. First, the building could take a very long time to sell, and perhaps there will come a time when we could again get back to the productions we love so much. Second, there is always the possibility of running a few theatre camps in other venues, working with the local Park District, etc. What we do know is that it is not fiscally responsible to own a building that remains sitting dark. From the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank all of you -- loyal board members, patrons, actors, kind folks who made donations to help us along during this ten year run, and especially those involved with our children's productions, some of whom have gone on to very great things. We will keep you posted - again, this does not necessarily mean the end of our group. In the meantime, treasure the memories and browse our old posts, videos and photos - add your own if you like via comments. We will always treasure each of you more than any of you will know.
