Music lovers and community builders,
River Bend East Songwriters Festival will not take place in 2025 and will discontinue moving forward. Since its inception in 2018, RBE presented stand out local, regional, and national singer-songwriters in Downtown Pawtucket during late August or early September. After moving to the Slater Mill location in 2019, with an audience of about 75 people, RBE grew to average well over 500 attendees for each of the past 3 years. We partnered with National Park Service in 2021, when they took over the management and administration of Slater Mill and have become great friends. River Bend East has always paid performers fairly for their artistry and contributions. However, due to budget cuts put in place at the federal level by the current administration, we no longer have a stable funding source; these changes were sudden and have not allowed us the time to adjust; thus, at this point we need to make the difficult decision to discontinue. We wish to thank the dozens of songwriters, musicians, performers, photographers, journalists, videographers, partners, and volunteers that participated in RBE through the years. We especially thank National Park Service and the top notch rangers with whom we have worked alongside from the bottom of our hearts. Please visit and continue to support your National Parks, and go out and see some live music!!
