Auditions on Saturday, June 13 from 12:30pm - 4pm.

The First Flight Theatre Company is still looking for 3 actors for our 6 member cast for a brand new musical that is about the Declaration of Independence with rehearsals in July and two performances on August 1 at the Hermitage in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ.

This show is a play within a play (think Pippin) it brings history to life in the manner of Hamilton or 1776.

For our auditions we are looking for a diverse group of actors - all of whom have equally important parts. The script is a combination of words from the Declaration of Independence and the words the acting troupe speak during their rehearsal of this new musical. The 45 minute play is a rehearsal and the actors will read any lines from the Declaration of Independence that they speak. It is a fun musical that sometimes has the actors speaking while they play Musical Chairs, London Bridge is Falling Down and Tug-O-War.

Auditions are open to actors 16 - 80. The singing is simple and will be suited to each performer cast.

Actors will be given stipends of $125 to help with transportation.

If interested in auditioning please email [email protected] with an hour that works for you on Saturday, June 13, between 12:30pm and 4pm. First Flight will email back a specific 10-minute audition slot.

Actors should prepare a one-to-two-minute memorized dramatic monologue and bring a photo and resume. Actors will be asked to read from the script. More details about the audition and the production can be found at https://www.firstflighttheatreco.com/post/auditions-on-june-6-2026-for-declaration.
