A couple of workflow comments relative to working on an 8-day / hour-long episode schedule.

First setup of the day requires planning at least one if not all of the potential wireless for the day so that TRX are named and assigned tracks in advance.

There are a lot of news events shot on a separate make / model video camera that are played back on HQ video screens with my audio unedited (or monitored during shooting--gotta fix that).

Instituted a permanent installation of a 743 TRX ( #20) modded with a battery eliminator on an antenna mast.

Output #1 is gain staged for music / VOX out of my computer --> Nomad analog input 1 --> output 1 --> 743 TRX ( #20) --> RX200 --> self-powered speaker.

Another output is staged for receipt of video playback via a Sound Guys Solutions modded with external battery 743 TRX ( #14) --> RX12 --> Nomad Return 1 (analog) --> Output 6 --> TRX #20 --> RX200 --> self-powered speaker.

In this way the permanent XLR cable to TRX #20 at the antenna mast may be easily switched from output 1 or output 6, the properly gain staged output.

In addition, the news reporters who speak carry practical hand held mics. One is Zaxcom's HH wireless, another is our third externally-powered 743 with an SM58.

The other recurring theme is people speaking from a podium. Our production designer loves the clear acrylic model we've had the set dressers drill through to accommodate a DPA 4098 with microdot extension cable more easily hidden --> microdot / XLRM 48V adapter --> TRX743 #14 with phantom power on.

The Nomad Touch image below shows the evolution of a day's work that included all of the above scenarios.

Yee-haw.

Say it is so and do something.

Research shows that loud sound can have a significant impact on human health, as well as doing devastating damage to ecosystems.

This year in personal development: learning how to deal with frustration tolerance. As the end of every project nears, I find myself increasingly less able to deal with frustration. I'm facing this deficit head on. Started a couple of years ago with "Finish Strong" as the meditation. The search for improvement has narrowed to frustration. Bingo.

At the top of the world, the Inuit culture has developed a sophisticated way to sculpt kids' behavior without yelling or scolding. Could discipline actually be playful?
