Why does Pasadena Chorale offer every concert free of charge? It starts with a simple belief: music is for everybody. 💙

Pasadena Weekly spoke with our Founding Executive & Artistic Director, Jeffrey Bernstein, to talk about our upcoming season of nine free concerts and the ideas at the heart of everything we do: accessibility, community, connection, and the power of experiencing live music together.

“Music is for everybody,” Bernstein told Pasadena Weekly. That belief is why every concert and music education program is offered to the community completely free of charge.

From Mozart’s Mass in C-Minor and the return of Reena Esmail’s Earth Speaks to mentoring the next generation of composers through Listening to the Future, there’s a lot to look forward to this season.

High Notes Auditions are September 9!

Do you know a young singer who loves to sing? The Pasadena Chorale’s High Notes are holding open auditions for their fourth season on Wednesday, September 9, from 6–8:30pm at San Marino Community Church.

Auditions are open to soprano and alto voices in grades 6–8, and participation in the is completely FREE!

Our annual young composers concert returns for its 10th year on Saturday, June 20 at 5:00pm at Pasadena Presbyterian Church! 🌟

Join us for an inspiring evening featuring the world premieres of original choral works by local high school composers and collegiate composers from across the nation. Through a new partnership with The Collegiate Choral Composition Community (The CCCC), the Pasadena Chorale is expanding the reach of Listening to the Future for the first time to showcase emerging collegiate voices alongside the program’s young local composers.

NOW ENROLLING: Pasadena Chorale’s FREE choir camp returns June 22-26 🌞

SummerSing is a week-long camp for students entering grades 7–12 who love to sing. Led by acclaimed conductor and educator Jeffrey Bernstein, students will spend the week developing their musical skills in a welcoming and supportive environment alongside other young singers from across the Pasadena area. Snacks and lunch will be provided each day.

Pasadena Choral Society’s Life of Mozart comes to San Marino Community Church on May 20 at 7:30pm, presenting the Requiem in its unfinished form and performing only the portions completed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart himself.
