aditional and non-traditional strategies for interdisciplinary creation and presentation including site-specific and interactive audience engagement approaches, and the integration of installation into its original theaterworks. Our company serves a range of people through programming that integrate arts and education, and provides creative opportunities for both professional theater artists and community members. In partnership with performing arts and cultural centers, community-based arts organizations, and educational institutions, we have worked with many of the region’s leading performing, media, and visual artists to explore the human spiritual condition and to unearth and illuminate cultural histories of the Southwest and Latin America. Our interdisciplinary productions have integrated media, music, dance, storytelling, and innovative lighting design, and have been featured in festivals such as the International Hispanic Theatre Festival in Miami, the Telluride Theatre Festival in Colorado, the New Voices Festival at The Public Theater in New York City, and SXSW in Austin. The company’s collaborative productions inform and inspire our successful Young Theaterworks (YT) program, which is currently celebrating 12 years of serving greatest-risk youth in Continuation high schools, primarily in East L.A. YT introduces youth to the importance of writing and the power of communication through artistic expression, facilitated dialogue, and live performance. Intensive 20-week long residencies culminate with staged readings open to the public and performed in a professional setting by professional actors alongside student participants. Our programs provide transformative experiences, and for many youth their first artistic experience, while improving literacy, communication, and collaboration skills. About...Productions also conducts workshops for all ages, master classes, symposia, lectures and pre-and post-play discussions in order to share its collaborative process, expand the content of its productions, and engage audiences of all generations.
