Daniel Sullivan is interested in the “sound of words in space and phonemic repetition as a means of hearing things in unexpected ways and making meaning differently.” He elaborates, “O’Keefe’s masterful explorations have always resonated with me — the import of creating more and more distance ‘between the means of imitation and the imitated thing’ to achieve a more meaningful imitation. Could that distancing be achieved sonically and could someone by these means come differently to terms with unspeakably lethal, arbitrary expressions of power.”
