We’re excited to announce the Undergraduate Spatial Experience Design Spring 2026 Grad show concept: TALENT MARKETSomewhere between a grad show and a job fair, designers are asked to prove their “value”packaged, polished, portfolio-ready.
But what gets lost in the process?
In a world shaped by Pinterest boards and Instagram aesthetics, can design collapse into image and style?Where does individuality live beyond the surface?
This is not just a showcase. It’s an experience.A space for ideas, identity, and innovation
Saturday, May 02, 202612:00–5:00 PM

Thesis Project: The J. Corvack Home & Electrospheric Observatory
A mystery adventure unfolding within the home of a forgotten turn-of-the-century inventor, the project draws on the language of roadside architecture and vernacular oddities to construct a world of curiosity and speculation. Blurring fact and fiction, it explores how overlooked histories and eccentric narratives can be spatialized, inviting visitors to piece together fragments of a life once lived, where invention, myth, and environment converge into an immersive journey of discovery.

Thesis title : Live the end
A series of sacred communal spaces of relief for souls in fear of mortality, to experience the parallelity of existence, and give meaning to one’s life.

“Unpacking my ideas beyond literal spaces to explore the imagined spaces. To see how very deep individual beliefs can shape collective bonds that ultimately tie the community together.”

Thesis Title: Old School
Old School explores adaptive reuse as an act of cultural stewardship, reimagining an existing site in Pasadena as a space that honors its layered histories while responding to present-day community needs. Rather than imposing a new identity, the project works carefully within what already exists, preserving traces of memory, embracing imperfection, and allowing past and present to coexist. A space where architecture becomes a quiet framework for connection, continuity, and belonging.

“Rites, Rituals & Ceremonies”
Redefining Meaningful Rituals for Sacred Unions

“Forms of rituals are prone to change because of more complex pools of audience with evolving values. There is a gap between standardized, performative ceremonies and meaningful rituals. We need to understand how meaning is gained, diluted, and preserved in an adaptive and creative way.

How might we design a spatial, narrative system across multiple sessions of experiences, where couples can instantiate unique, shared values by co-creating and co-authoring meaningful rites of passage to support long-lasting unions?”
