"Danzón No. 2" by Arturo Marquez

Playing this incredible piece was a bittersweet celebration as it was Gustavo Dudamel's last day as the Music & Artistic Director of the LA Philharmonic after 17 years.

Thank you, Lori Musicant Kozubek for leading us through the score!

Dudamel championed Arturo Marquez's "Danzón No. 2" when touring with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra in 2007 which propelled the Mexican Composer into an international sensation. Highly recommend seeing a young Gustavo conducting this piece on YouTube.

LA will miss you, Gustavo! 🫶
