We are pleased to announce the debut artist reception for Anna Léger-Hawks (), celebrating her first-ever solo exhibition. Join us on Friday, June 26th, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at The Crush Pad () in Pasadena (693 S Raymond Ave). Highlighting her intuitive practice as active meditation, the evening invites guests to experience the collection, meet the artist, and enjoy live jazz by the Dylan Quintet ().

Léger-Hawks is a Pasadena-based contemporary artist whose mixed-media practice serves as an evocative exploration of nature, imagination, and emotion. With a formal background in fine arts, her work seamlessly bridges abstract techniques with deeply personal narratives.

In the studio, her process is entirely unscripted. Working purely from intuition, she embraces a spontaneous approach, drawing heavily from the enduring strength of the natural world. Her recent floral series vividly reflects this philosophy—deliberately embracing bright colors, flow, and balance to center us within a fast-paced modern society.

For Léger-Hawks, creating is fundamentally tied to healing. Celebrating over fifteen years of personal sobriety, she utilizes art as a vital coping mechanism. As a therapeutic art teacher at a women’s recovery home, she guides students in translating complex emotions into visual form—a profound practice she describes as “visual journaling.”

In honor of the community she serves, Léger-Hawks is proud to donate 10% of all sales from this exhibition to Casa Treatment Center for Women. By acquiring a piece, collectors directly support Casa’s mission to help women regain the confidence needed to lead healthy, meaningful lives.

Through strategic partnerships with select cultural venues, Sector Seven Contemporary Art Gallery () presents rotating exhibitions of original contemporary artwork available for acquisition. By utilizing these unique spaces, the gallery expands access to fine art beyond traditional gallery walls while maintaining a strictly curated exhibition and acquisition experience.

Currently, Jones Coffee Roasters in South Pasadena is hosting a new collection by multidisciplinary artist Maria Go as part of the S7CAG exhibition program. Guests are invited to view the collection during operating hours, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily, with extended summer hours until 6:00 PM.

A resident of South Pasadena since 2001, Maria Go’s current practice is an intuitive fusion of watercolor and collage. Her work is shaped by her unique background as a missionary child and a deep admiration for Expressionist masters such as Alexei von Jawlensky and Franz Marc. Exploring the profound depth found in simplicity, Go utilizes bold geometric forms to reflect her theory that there is “perfect balance in imperfection.” Drawing from a diverse technical background in photography and fiber arts, she focuses on capturing the beauty of the natural world through deliberate layers of paper and saturated pigment. Her work has been selected for prestigious juried exhibitions, including the Brand Library & Art Center’s National Juried Exhibition and the Sanchez Art Center’s 50|50 show.

For Go, the ultimate purpose of art is to provoke curiosity, wonder, and emotion through human connection. A staunch advocate for “third-space” exhibitions, she believes that placing original artwork in community hubs creates the “magical possibility of accidental inspiration” for neighbors and friends alike. Whether working with vibrant Japanese watercolors or intricate paper elements, Go finds joy in making art accessible, viewing it as a vital thread that connects her family, her local community, and the natural world.

The complete collection of artwork by Maria Go is featured in our online gallery. We invite you to explore the collection and acquisition details via the links in our bio.

Sector Seven Contemporary Art Gallery () is pleased to announce that Afternoon Bridge, a new original work by Southern California artist Robert Sherrill, is now available for acquisition in our online gallery.

This piece is a prime example of Sherrill’s ability to capture the majestic beauty of natural and architectural landmarks through a rigorous en plein air methodology. Utilizing the 19th-century Impressionist tradition of immediate, gestural application, Sherrill depicts the iconic Colorado Street Bridge from the Arroyo Seco hiking path in Pasadena, masterfully capturing the balance between man and nature.

Raised in Southern California, Robert Sherrill immersed himself in the outdoors from a young age—an influence that remains central to his creative practice. After graduating from ArtCenter College of Design in 1990, Sherrill built a prolific career as an illustrator, backdrop artist, and art director. Over the past three decades, he has become a mainstay in the regional art community, earning numerous awards for his exhilarating portrayals of light, shape, and color.

Afternoon Bridge (March 2006) is an original oil on canvas measuring 30” x 24” x 0.75”. Sourced directly from the artist’s studio, this is a singular original work; no prints are available.

S7CAG features original pieces offered in collaboration with our represented and exhibiting artists. Our available works are carefully curated to reflect the evolving dialogue between emerging and established voices, with every selection made with collector placement, artistic integrity, and long-term value in mind. Through these partnerships, S7CAG expands access to contemporary art beyond traditional gallery walls while maintaining a premium exhibition and acquisition experience.

Sector Seven Contemporary Art Gallery (S7CAG) is pleased to announce the debut solo exhibition of Eunice Lee, opening at Jones Coffee Roasters in South Pasadena. Located at 1006 Mission St, South Pasadena, CA 91030, this special collection features original works created with gouache and colored pencil on watercolor paper. The exhibition is officially open for viewing from Sunday, April 12, through Sunday, June 14, 2026. Guests are invited to explore the collection during daily operating hours from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with extended hours until 6:00 PM during the summer season.
Eunice Lee is a visual development artist and illustrator based in South Pasadena. Originally from La Crescenta and a graduate of ArtCenter College of Design, she has contributed to major projects across animation, games, and publishing for studios such as Titmouse, Blur, Nickelodeon, and ShadowMachine. Alongside her work in the entertainment industry, Eunice’s personal practice is inspired by the warmth and gentle glow of everyday moments.
“I primarily work in gouache, sometimes combined with colored pencil,” Eunice shares. “I’m drawn to gouache for its vibrancy and opacity, while colored pencil adds quick texture and layering that complements the paint. My background in visual development has shaped how I think about composition and storytelling; I approach each piece with an emphasis on clarity, structure, and mood.”
In addition to the physical display at Jones Coffee Roasters, Lee’s collection is available for acquisition on the S7CAG website, where visitors can also read a full interview regarding her background and creative process. S7CAG is dedicated to bringing contemporary art into the community by partnering with select cultural venues to present rotating exhibitions, expanding access to fine art beyond traditional gallery walls.

In a recent conversation with California native and art collector Niel Kluft, he reflected on the experience of acquiring Enlightenment, a painting by Pasadena-based artist Michael Dergar that now holds a meaningful presence within his home.

Mr. Kluft recalls that his connection to the painting was immediate. “I was drawn into this artwork because of the beauty of its spiritually inspiring, uplifting, and powerful expansive energy that it communicates,” he explained.

Today, Enlightenment, created with acrylic on canvas, occupies a prominent place in his home. The painting hangs directly across from his reading chair, intentionally positioned where he spends much of his time. “I placed the piece directly across from where I spend the most time when I am at home so I can constantly bask in the warmth of its wonderful energy,” he shared.

The painting also integrates naturally within his broader collection, which spans multiple mediums and subjects. Throughout his home, ceramics, textiles, photography, prints, and mixed media works coexist in thoughtfully arranged groupings, curated by room and complemented by both furniture and lighting. Within this environment, Enlightenment has taken on a unifying role. “It fits wonderfully in my space. It is beautiful. I even feel like my other artworks are happy and inspired to be together with it.”

When asked what advice he would offer someone considering acquiring original artwork, his answer was direct and heartfelt: “If it deeply resonates with you—buy it—you’ll be happy you did.”

Through his ongoing relationship with Sector Seven Contemporary Art Gallery (S7CAG), Mr. Kluft has continued expanding his collection, which includes works by Stephen Dudro, Robert Sherrill, and Jimi Martinez—artists connected to the vibrant creative community of South Pasadena. The acquisition of Enlightenment represents another chapter in a collecting journey shaped by intuition, emotion, and personal meaning.

Andrea Bogdan is a freestyle painter based in downtown Los Angeles whose work is entirely improvised. Her vibrant, colorful paintings celebrate both the messiness and the beauty of human connection, exploring imperfection, vulnerability, and the internal contradictions that make us human.

With a background in business and training in graphic design, Bogdan began her career in New York City’s advertising industry. She later transitioned into becoming a full-time artist, driven by a desire to work with her hands and inspire others to follow their own unique paths. Her creative practice spans furniture, mobiles, paintings on canvas and wood, and painted clothing. Since 2012, she has exhibited in galleries throughout Los Angeles and has developed a global base of collectors.

The artwork currently on exhibition, Different Together, was inspired by students who visited Bogdan’s studio—most notably a group of high school students from a local arts magnet school. Though each had a distinct personal style and came from diverse cultural backgrounds, they shared a deep sense of friendship and mutual respect. As they spoke about their studies, each student highlighted the talents of their peers rather than their own. Moved by their kindness, admiration, and collective spirit, Bogdan titled the painting Different Together, honoring the beauty of individuality within unity.

Andrea Bogdan’s artwork is currently on exhibition at Rosebud Coffee in Pasadena. Guests are invited to view the work daily from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM during the cafe’s regular operating hours.

All artwork is available for purchase. For inquiries, please contact Esteban at [email protected]. To explore our online gallery, visit the links in our bio.

We invite you to view artwork by Richard Elms, now on exhibition at cafe Demitasse in Santa Monica (1149 3rd St, Santa Monica, CA). Guests are welcome to view the exhibition daily from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This exhibition marks the first-ever public art exhibition presented by . Following this initial showing, the artworks presented above, along with several additional works, will begin a tour through our network of third-spaces.

Richard Elms () is a multidisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles whose work blends abstraction, rhythm, and the sensory memory of the ocean. Born in Barbados, he grew up immersed in the island’s vivid visual environment—white coral sand; the tranquil turquoise waters of the Caribbean on the west coast; the shifting power of the Atlantic on the east coast; and the saturated colors of tropical fruit and vegetation. This landscape, along with surfing, shaped his visual language, as did comic books, which first drew him into making art and later into studies in illustration and graphic design at an art college in Barbados.

Alongside his fashion career, Elms developed a studio practice centered on precision, geometry, and the translation of lived sensation into visual structure. His work ranges from ink-on-paper drawings inspired by the rhythm of music to mixed-media panels informed by surfing and oceanic motion. The contrast between the calm buoyancy of Caribbean waters and the dynamic pulse of the Atlantic creates a visual tension between stillness and movement in his compositions.

For more information about Richard Elms and to view his full collection of available artwork, we invite you to explore the links in our biography. All artwork pictured above is available for purchase.

I was pleasantly surprised today while visiting the home of an artist, art collector, and humanitarian who supports artists with disabilities throughout Mexico, Central America, and South America. I was taken aback to rediscover that their significant other had purchased an artwork by Robert Sherrill years ago as a birthday gift. The piece was installed centrally in their beautiful home, easily visible from both the living room and dining room.

Their collection includes notable local, national, and international artists, so it was especially exciting to realize our role in being part of not only a growing art collection, but also—if only in a small way—their everyday experience of living with art. It is always fascinating to see where artworks end up and how meaningfully they can shape the atmosphere of a home or office.

Seeing a Robert Sherrill piece years after it was acquired signals, at least to me, that art doesn’t disappear after acquisition; it settles, ages, and accumulates meaning. Furthermore, I’m witnessing and understanding that artwork is not just an object for sale, but a lived presence—installed, remembered, and woven into daily life. There’s a quiet humility in realizing that once art leaves the studio or gallery, it belongs to a much larger story.

Possibly, art’s real power often reveals itself long after the exchange, in the intimacy of daily life.
