ScreamWorks Florida Grassroots horror built in Parrish, Florida. Home of SITE 13. Community built. Volunteer powered. 501(c)(3). Scaring local. Giving back local. Oct 30–31

Scream Works Florida is unleashing Site 13, an industrial horror attraction built inside the forgotten expansion of the old Parrish Works Project. Shadows move through the sparks, alarms trip after midnight, and The Foreman’s lantern is the last thing most people remember seeing. Construction crews abandoned Site 13 decades ago. Now Parrish’s development boom has broken open what they sealed underground, and we’re opening the gates for everyone to see what never should’ve been found. Opening October 2026.

Apparently haunted houses are less about monsters and more about finding out exactly who in your group cannot be trusted under pressure.

Everybody has that one friend who swears they’ve got your back… right up until something moves in the dark.

Tag the person you already know would abandon you first.

Take a look at what Colton’s Creations made for us.

Colton is a local student who loves making things. He’s already put that talent to work for several small businesses in our community. Now he’s made this custom ScreamWorks Florida display, and we’re proud to show it off.

This is exactly what we want ScreamWorks to help build. A community where young people have room to create, learn, and see their work appreciated. There’s a lot of talent around here. It deserves some attention.

Colton, thank you for putting your time and creativity into this. You made something we’ll be proud to put out for people to see. Keep making things. We’re glad you made this one for us.

Go show Colton’s Creations some support. Let’s give a young local creator a few more reasons to keep going.

A lot of people grow up feeling like they’re a little too weird, too creative, too loud, too quiet, or just never quite fit into the normal boxes.

I think haunted attractions have a funny way of turning those things into strengths.

That’s a big part of what I want ScreamWorks Florida to become. Not just somewhere people come to get scared, but somewhere people can show up, learn something, create something, and find a group that appreciates exactly what they bring to the table.

If you’ve ever found your people in an unexpected place, you probably understand exactly what I mean.

This is the point in the build where it stops looking like something we made in a driveway…
…and starts looking like Site 13.

The sets are built. The characters are coming alive. The lighting is doing exactly what we wanted it to do. And somehow the thing that lived in our heads for months is now standing in front of a camera.

Huge thank you to TylerHaunts! 📸 for coming out and capturing these.

SITE 13 PARKING DIRECTIVE

A quick parking briefing before you report to Site 13.
We want everyone to have a safe, fun night. We also want to make sure we respect the neighborhood that is allowing us to bring this thing to life.

Street parking is available along county roads marked with green street signs where legally permitted. If you park on the street, please keep your stay to about 1 to 2 hours maximum so spaces continue to turn over throughout the night.

For longer parking, please use the Bella Lago Clubhouse and Community Pool.
12225 Bella Lago Boulevard
About a 2 minute walk to Site 13.

A few rules that matter:
• Do not block driveways.
• Do not park in front of fire hydrants.
• Keep roads clear for emergency vehicles.
• Stay off lawns and private property.
• Keep noise down when walking to and from your vehicle.
• Please respect our neighbors and their property.
Site 13 is being built for this community. Help us prove we can have a packed night, scare a lot of people, and still leave the neighborhood exactly how we found it.

Site 13 was supposed to be a safe place.

That was the promise.

Then the evaluations started.

Read the Outpost Briefing. Learn the process. Pay attention to the last line.

Because when you enter Site 13, you are not deciding what happens next.

They are.

So here is the question.

What do you think Site 13 decides you are?

October 30 and 31.
7:00 to 11:00 PM.
12221 High Rock Way Parrish, Florida.

This started with a haunted house in my front yard.

But the goal was never just Halloween.

We're trying to build something local that gives kids opportunities, supports other nonprofits, helps local businesses, brings people together, and eventually gives Manatee County something we can all call our own.

We're starting small. Very small.

October 30th and 31st, Site 13 will be open FREE from 7 to 11 PM at 12221 High Rock Way in Parrish. We will have local food trucks and drink vendors.

If you're able, bring canned goods for the Parrish Methodist Church food pantry or consider supporting ScreamWorks Florida, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Most importantly, come see what a bunch of local people can build when they decide to make something happen.

And Manatee County, I want to hear from you.

What would YOU like to see something like ScreamWorks become here?

Haunt season is finally here.
The lights are on. The fog is rolling. And grown adults are once again voluntarily walking into dark buildings to get screamed at by strangers.
Everything feels right again.
Who else has been waiting all year for this?

ScreamWorks Florida is proud to be a member of the Haunted Attraction Association.

So what does that actually mean?

The Haunted Attraction Association represents haunted attractions, home haunters, designers, actors, artists, vendors, and other members of the haunt industry.

Its mission comes down to three things:

PROTECT.
PROMOTE.
EDUCATE.

For ScreamWorks Florida, membership matters because we are serious about how we build this.

Yes, Site 13 is starting as a community home haunt in Parrish.

But we are not interested in just throwing some walls up, turning off the lights, and calling it a haunted house.

We want to learn from the industry.

We want to build safely.

We want to improve our operations.

We want to connect with people who have been doing this far longer than we have.

And we want to take what we learn and use it to build something Manatee County can be proud of.

Being an HAA member does not mean we have reached the finish line.

It means we are choosing to build ScreamWorks Florida the right way from the beginning.

Small haunt.

Big standards.

Community first.

October 30th and 31st.
7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Parrish, Florida.

Room 1 is officially finished.

Lighting. Sound. Set dressing. Scare position.

Everything is finally working together.

For the first time, Site 13 is starting to feel less like something we’re building in the yard and more like an actual place you’re about to walk into.

One room down.

Five more to bring to life.

What detail catches your eye first?
