After months of rehearsals, choreography notes, line runs, costume fittings, late nights, quick changes, and more than a few emotional moments along the way… The Prom officially opens at Cassidy Theatre tonight!
This show is hilarious.
It’s heartfelt.
It’s big Broadway energy mixed with the very real experience of wanting to belong.
At its core, The Prom is about what happens when people decide that everyone deserves to be seen, celebrated, and loved exactly as they are. And during Pride Month, that message feels especially meaningful.
But make no mistake - this show is also just a blast!
There are powerhouse vocals, sharp comedy, giant dance numbers, awkward teenagers, self-absorbed Broadway stars, and plenty of heart to go around.
And this cast has poured everything they have into telling this story.
From Emma finding the courage to stand in her truth… to Alyssa learning to use her voice… to Dee Dee, Barry, Trent, Angie, and Sheldon charging into Indiana with more confidence than common sense… every person on this stage brings something honest to the story.
Congratulations to our cast, crew, orchestra, designers, volunteers, and creative team: thank you for creating something joyful, funny, hopeful, and deeply human.
To our audiences: thank you for supporting community theatre and making space for stories that remind people they belong.
It’s opening night.
Let’s dance!
