The Blue Bee Boutique

The Blue Bee Boutique The Blue Bee helps women relax, refocus, and connect through creative projects designed to fit around real life. Come be a part of our Blue Bee family.

Pop-Welcome to Blue Bee Boutique – your new home for Barn Quilt Workshops! 🐝✨ While we once offered fabric sales, we’ve reimagined our space to focus exclusively on creative barn quilt workshops that bring people together in a relaxed, inspiring environment. Our workshops are intimate gatherings where you’ll learn, share, and craft together, guided by a process-driven approach that emphasizes Rela

x, Refocus, and Connect. Each session is designed to help you:

✨ Relax: Unwind with creative icebreakers and calming activities. ✨ Refocus: Dive into the meditative art of barn quilting at your own pace. ✨ Connect: Build meaningful relationships within a small, supportive community. Led by Bethany, a seasoned facilitator with over 25 years of experience, our classes are not about rushing through tasks—they’re about savoring each step of the creative journey. With a strong background in human relations, team building, and creative problem solving, [Your Name] creates a welcoming, inclusive space where everyone feels comfortable and encouraged. At Blue Bee Boutique, we celebrate each unique project and offer guidance on integrating creative mindfulness into your daily routine. Whether you’re a seasoned quilter or a curious beginner, join us to explore the art of barn quilting, share stories, and create something beautiful—all while connecting deeply with others in our community. Let’s relax, refocus, and craft memories together! 🌸🧵

As I approach my 54th birthday, I've been reflecting on a surprising realization:

I've spent most of my life learning grit.

Raising children, military life, caring for family, building businesses, navigating loss, and carrying responsibilities—it seems there was always something that needed my attention.

But what if this season is about learning something different?

What if the first step isn't doing more... but learning to relax?

In this week's blog post, I share some thoughts on identity, letting go, and why the first word in The Blue Bee's motto has become so meaningful to me:

🐝 Relax • Refocus • Connect

Perhaps it's a lesson many of us are still learning.

💙 A Little Blue Bee Update 💙

The Blue Bee has been busy this spring.

We've been sorting, organizing, donating, simplifying, and making room for what comes next. Sometimes moving forward means creating space first.

Next weekend, June 20th, I'll be participating in The Fabric Chic's Maker's Fabric & Notion Destash Event in Parkville, Missouri.

I'll be bringing:

🧵 Fabric sold by weight at Huge savings!
✂️ Notions and creative supplies
🪡 Charlotte Eversewn sewing machines at deeply discounted prices

While we're clearing shelves, we're also looking ahead.

💙 The Blue Bee website is open and stocked with beautiful fabrics from Riley Blake Designs and Tilda.
💙 The Blue Bee Bag Society is now active and shipping.
💙 New kits, projects, and creative experiences are already in the works.

This season has been less about doing more and more about focusing on what matters most: helping people relax, refocus, and connect through creativity.

We're deeply spring cleaning, making room, and focusing on the future of The Blue Bee. 🐝💙

I hope you'll stop by and say hello if you're attending the Destash Event!

Today I opened a small box I've carried through countless moves since my Oklahoma days.

Inside were pieces from my Origami Owl business.

For years, I kept them because I thought letting them go meant that chapter didn't matter.

But as I looked through the box, I realized something different.

Origami Owl wasn't where I was supposed to stay.

It was one of the places I was supposed to learn.

It taught me how to build community, encourage others, host events, tell stories, lead a team, and believe in myself enough to try something new.

The funny part?

I eventually learned I'm not really a jewelry girl. 😊

What I loved wasn't the jewelry.

I loved the people.

I loved gathering women together.

I loved helping someone discover their creativity and confidence.

And when I look back now, I can see that every chapter of my life was leading me somewhere.

The military moves.
The corporate jobs.
The training rooms.
The real estate ventures.
The quilt shop.
Even the jewelry business.

Each one gave me a piece of what would eventually become The Blue Bee.

The Blue Bee was never really about fabric, paint, or projects.

It's about creating spaces where people can relax, refocus, and connect.

It's about community.

And maybe that's what I've been building all along.

Sometimes we think we're starting over, when really we're carrying forward everything we've learned.

Today I'm grateful for every chapter that helped bring me here. 🐝💙
