Donald Fagan, Steely Dan co-founder, Retires
Steely Dan frontman Donald Fagen, 78, has officially announced his retirement from touring and major performances as of early 2026, according to his stepdaughter, Amy Helm.
The last time Fagen performed as Steely Dan was in March 2024, during a run of shows opening for the Eagles.
Following their final show in March 2024, Fagen is reportedly enjoying his downtime in Woodstock, New York.
Fagen is currently living in Woodstock, where he has been playing with the Helm Family Ramble Band at Levon Helm Studios and working on music with Amy Helm’s son.
Fagen's retirement follows the 2017 passing of his bandmate Walter Becker and the 2024 death of his wife, Libby Titus.
