I hope to see all of my "Paw paw people" and meet some new friends in September.

We are so excited to announce the music lineup for this year's Ohio Pawpaw Festival! As we do each year, we'll not only post the Spotify playlist so you can become familiar with this year's artists, but also showcase each band between now and the festival! Hopefully there are a few familiar names on the lineup, but regardless, we can't wait to introduce you to your new favorite band!

We’re throwin’ it back for the 2026 Charleston Sternwheel Regatta, and we want YOU to be part of the tradition!

We’re launching a Retro T-Shirt Design Contest and asking you to take control of the creative process. All ages are invited to show off their creativity with a vintage-inspired Regatta design.

🌀Think bold colors
🌀Classic riverfront vibes
🌀Nostalgic Charleston energy

The winning design will be seen and sported by thousands of Regatta spectators this summer! Winner will be recognized at the Regatta Booth with their name and original design shown for all to view, will be recognized on the main stage before one of the concerts and will receive either two VIP passes for one night of entertainment or a full day pass to the carnival (depending on age).

🗳️Submit your design by NOON on April 30, 2026

📧Send entries to: [email protected] or via mail at P O Box 11386 Charleston WV 25339

Whether you're an artist, a student, or just love the Regatta, we can’t wait to see what you create.

Let’s bring the retro back to the riverfront!

History is sometimes funny.

History is sometimes funny.

Sometimes, the solution isn’t more technology… it’s psychology.

NASA engineers ran into a surprisingly human problem: astronauts weren’t choosing the correct size for their urine collection devices. Instead of fixing it with redesigns, they changed something much simpler, the labels.

“Small, medium, large” became “large, gigantic, humongous.”

That one tweak worked. Astronauts were more likely to choose the right fit, reducing leaks and improving performance.

It’s a funny story, but it highlights something deeper, human behavior doesn’t disappear in high-tech environments. Even in space, pride and perception still matter.

Sometimes, the smartest engineering solution… is understanding people.

I am reaching out to the "hive mind" for inspiration on decorating this horse. Allow me tell you about this project.

I am building a new strolling cart for taking mini bubble shows around festival and fairgrounds. This new cart will be self propelled and very whimsical in a fun steampunky way. I obtained this old school bouncy horse, which I think would look marvelous pulling me around. I have thought about mounting it on a big spring, or on a pole like a carousel horse or some sort of moving mechanism. The other spot that I am stuck on is coloring and style.
All ideas welcome. Please fill my head with notions ideas and silliness.

Finally, a groundhog with some sense.
No shadow nonsense.

No folklore riddles.
Just straight facts: winter ends when it ends. Spring shows up when it’s ready.

Until then, keep the coffee hot.
Keep the complaints valid.

This groundhog gets it.
